A Vision Realized: Kenna for Kids with Disabilities Inaugurates the Gammadii Tashitaa Tufaa Center

July 19, 2026 marked a historic milestone in the journey of Kenna for Kids with Disabilities as we proudly inaugurated the Gammadii Tashitaa Tufaa Center in Bishaan Gurraachaa, Shashemene City, celebrating the successful completion of one of our most transformative projects.

The Center stands as a powerful symbol of hope, dignity, and inclusion for children with special needs and their families. More than a building, it represents our unwavering commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of ability, has access to quality care, opportunities, and the support needed to thrive.

Construction of the center commenced on May 11, 2025, through the extraordinary generosity of the Tashitaa Tufaa family, whose visionary philanthropic investment has created a lasting legacy for thousands of children with disabilities. Their compassion and commitment have made possible a facility that will serve generations to come.

The inauguration ceremony brought together donors, philanthropists, special needs advocates, community representatives, volunteers, media, government leaders, development partners, and families of children with disabilities. Their presence reflected a shared commitment to advancing disability inclusion and strengthening community ownership of this remarkable achievement.

The Gammadii Tashitaa Tufaa Center has been established as a comprehensive disability service hub, delivering integrated services including early identification and assessment, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, autism support, inclusive education, psychosocial counseling, family empowerment, daycare, temporary residential support, vocational and life skills training, community awareness, and capacity-building programs. By bringing these services together under one roof, the Center will significantly improve access to quality, person-centered care for children with disabilities.

This achievement would not have been possible without the collective efforts of our generous donors, dedicated partners, volunteers, government institutions, board members, staff, and the wider community who believed in this vision from the very beginning. Their unwavering support transformed an ambitious dream into a lasting reality.

Kenna for Kids with Disabilities extends its deepest gratitude to everyone who helped make the Gammadii Tashitaa Tufaa Center a reality. Together, we are building a more inclusive future where every child is valued, every ability is celebrated, and no one is left behind.
